FAQ's

  • Are quotes free?
Yes, all quotes are free, call or use the contact form on the website and we will get back to you within 48 hours.
  • Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! All of our services and equipment are insured! All staff are insured by CWB, provided relevant safety equipment and kept up to date on all safety practices.
  • What time will you cut my grass? Will you be here the same time each week?
While we try to arrive the same time each week there are sometimes other factors that may speed us up or slow us down, like setting up a new customer on the route or simply traffic. If the crew is going to be more than 3 hours late you will be notified by email.
  • Do I have to be home when services are performed?
No. Once you have accepted our quote and a day is scheduled your job is done! Rest easy while we take care of the rest.
  • What hours do you cut grass during the day?
Our first customer gets cut around 8:00 am and our final customer gets cut around 5:30Pm. If your property requires special hours to be serviced please don't hesitate to ask.
  • We have our own tools and equipment, do we get a discount?
No. The yard father uses the best commercial quality tools and equipment. For liability reasons we cannot use your own tools but we appreciate the offer!
  • I do my own yard work but I need someone to haul away the debris, what does that cost?
Please contact us for a free quote. Each job is different.
  • Do you clean up the mess after you're done? Does it cost extra to have it hauled away?
Yes! Expect us to leave your yard cleaner than when we found it. All quotes will have debris haul away included in the price unless otherwise stated!
  • What can I expect once I sign up for a service?
You will receive a specialized FAQ packaged for the service(s) you've chosen with some additional information as well as some yardcare tips and tricks. You can expect Friendly well mannered, skilled technicians.
  • Who will be working on my property each week?
We understand that working in your yard is an absolute privilege. Only the owner and employees of TheYardFather will be working in your yard. In the event a subcontractor is needed you will be informed before approval is given.
  • What height do you cut grass?
Our mowers are set at 2.5” in the spring and raised to 3” during the hot summer months. These are the heights recommended for most of the common types of grasses.
  • Do you offer fertilizer? How do I know I'm getting the right amount?
Each yard is a bit different in shape and size. This is why our technicians are trained to measure the square footage of your yard and weigh out the correct prescription so your lawn gets fed the right amount each time!
  • I have a dog or other pets, Is that a problem?
As a professional landscape maintenance company, we have had a lot of experience dealing with all sorts of pets. We have a lot of pet lovers on staff as well. For the safety and well being of your pet, we have our own pet policy for their protection. Our equipment and staff could easily scare your pet if your pet is loose in the back yard. For this reason we won’t go in. We ask that you keep your pet inside on your day of service. Also, we ask that you pick up after your pet, failure to pickup after your pet may incur a cleanup fee
  • Can I lock my gate?
If you keep a locked gate, we generally recommend that you switch to a combination lock and give us the code so we can lock it back up for you when we’re done. Otherwise you’re responsible for locking/unlocking on your mowing day or you could decide to leave a key for us at your discretion. The Crew cannot be held liable if someone were to find that key though. If we unload all of our equipment and find you forgot to unlock your gate, we’ll mow everything we can and move on. If it’s on a fertilizing or spring clean-up day, we’ll phone you and reschedule service.
